EDU 620 - Research-based Literacy Practices II: Reading Across the Curriculum, K-12
Prerequisites:None This course connects research to practice relative to the principles of reading instruction and intervention in content area reading. Specific emphasis is on cognitive strategy instruction and the effect it has on K-12 students’ metacognition of reading comprehension processes. Learning outcomes inside research-based best practices in the teaching of vocabulary and comprehension of expository text. Accommodations for the English language learner are examined.
