CJS 532 - Psychology and the Legal System Prerequisites: None This course involves the study of human behavior within the American legal and criminal justice systems, focusing primarily on the study of social, cognitive, developmental and clinical psychology as applied to these systems. This course will address a variety of legal psychology topics, including forensic issues (e.g., insanity, competency, child custody, criminal profiling), jury issues (e.g., pretrial publicity, nullification, selection), and punishment issues (e.g., prisons, death penalty, sex offenders).
