CJS 428 - Crime Prevention Prerequisites: CJS 105 , or URBN 100 This course will examine the theoretical basis and application of crime prevention techniques, with an emphasis on routine activity theory, rational choice, crime patterns, defensible space, crime prevention through environmental design and situational crime prevention. A wide range of problems and potential solutions will be explored. The strengths, weaknesses, and ethics of crime prevention approaches will also be assessed.
