CJS 405 - Introduction to Criminal Investigation Prerequisites: CJS 105 , CJS 201 An overview of criminal investigative techniques. This course will explore the lawful reconstruction and successful investigation of a crime using three primary sources of information: physical evidence, records, and people. Areas of study include: investigating crimes against persons and property, crime scene evidence, witness interviews and interrogations, case preparation, and the role of the investigator in the judicial process.
