This course is a Pre-Practicum Residency requirement for all Secondary Education majors that will be repeated during sophomore and junior years. All Secondary Education students will be placed in a middle/high school for field experiences and will register for this course to demonstrate their field participation, during: (1) sophomore fall semester, (2) sophomore spring semester, (2) junior fall semester, and (3) junior spring semester. Students must register for three one-hour sections of this course during those semesters and complete a minimum 30-hour residency over the course of each semester. Juniors abroad are excused from this requirement for the abroad semester.
Three additional pedagogical content knowledge courses in the certification area, the third of which is taken simultaneously with Practicum, and is understood as belonging to Curriculum Level II:
