• MUSIC 161 - The Art of Rock and Roll
• MUSIC 170 - Music Theory and Composition I
• MUSIC 211 - History of Western Music I (Antiquity - 1750)

• *Students may take a placement examination for MUSIC 170 to waive this requirement and thus create room for an additional elective in the Core Concentration.
