Program Requirements


Majors pursuing a dual major in English Literature and Secondary Education  must satisfy 

  • the University Core Curriculum Requirements
  • the SHAE College Speech Requirement: COMM 210
  • all Secondary Education requirements for the English Literature dual major 
  • See Secondary Education Certificate Requirements
  • all requirements for the English Literature major listed above.  Note: EDU 412: Adolescent Multicultural Literature counts as one English Literature elective requirement.

The total required credits for this double major is 117 credits. Students choose at least one 3- credit general elective to total 120 credits required to for graduation. 

 

Foundation Courses


Take one course at the 100 level

English Elective Requirement


Select three (3) additional English Electives, two (2) must be at the 300-400 level.

Students may slect a course at the appropriate level from the following interdisciplinary list to satisfy one (1) of the English elective requirements.

Secondary Education Requirement


Take EDU 412 and two additional English electives from the English Elective Requirements listed above, one must be at the 300-400 level.  Students may select one course at the appropriate level from the following interdisciplinary list to satisfy one of the English elective requirements.

Note:


EDU 412: Adolescent Multicultural Literature counts as one English Literature elective requirement. The total of required credits for this double major is 117 credits. Students choose at least one 3- credit general elective to total 120 credits to meet graduation requirements.
