The Marketing major focuses on the many aspects of marketing and the ways in which organizations administer and control their resources to achieve marketing objectives. Courses emphasize the dynamic nature of marketing in a global economy and the need for organizations to be consumer oriented.
Students are encouraged to register for at least one marketing internship as part of their elective courses. Internships and special topics courses may be repeated for additional academic credit.

Business Core Requirements
International Dimension Course Requirements
In order to insure that School of Business graduates have taken coursework focusing on the global business environment, all business majors are required to take at least one of the following courses:
This requirement is waived for students who have had a study abroad experience for which the student earned 3 or more college-level credit hours.
Data Analytics Course Requirement
To ensure that GSB graduates have developed sufficient skills in the area of data analytics, all business majors are required to take at least one of the following courses: Program Requirements
In addition to satisfying the University Core requirements and Business Core requirements, every marketing must take 2 required courses: MRKT 305 Marketing Research & MRKT 335 Consumer Behavior. Students must also choose from the following options; 1) Advertising Strategy Concentration, 2) Digital Marketing & Analytics Concentration, or 3) a general marketing curriculum.
Required Courses
All Marketing majors are required to take the two courses listed below in order to ensure students learn essential Marketing concepts. Note:
* Please note: Because the content varies each time, students may count MRKT 469 Marketing Internship, MRKT 430 Special Topics, and Independent Studies multiple times as MRKT Electives. Advertising Strategy Concentration
Students in this concentration will take courses focused on essential concepts in advertising. Students must take two courses from those listed below and any 3 MRKT electives. (BUSN 435, IB 469, CIS 350, & BUSN 408 qualify as marketing electives.) Digital Marketing & Analytics Concentration
Students in this concentration will focus on core concepts related to digital marketing and the analysis of data to drive business decisions. Students must take the two required courses listed below, and any 3 MRKT electives. (BUSN 435, IB 469, CIS 350, & BUSN 408 qualify as marketing electives.) Marketing
