SEC 100 - Computer Hardware and Software

This course introduces the fundamentals of computer hardware, operating systems, and software. This hands-on course is taught in a laboratory and exposes the student to technology from a practical perspective. In the course, students will build a personal computer, install networking and operating systems components, and learn basic networking and testing methodologies. In addition, students will configure different operating systems and learn to use various testing applications. Students will learn basic hardware and software troubleshooting.
