CNST 116 - Computer Applications for Construction


Prerequisites: None
Pre- or Co-requisite: None

This course will focus on the software applications that today’s Construction Management professionals use. We will explore software applications that assist in every aspect of construction from Pre-Con activities through the course of construction. The students will use software applications that assist in Scheduling, Estimating, Design Team/Contractor Collaboration, Trade Coordination and Document Management. An introduction to Building Information Modeling (BIM) will help students see how Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) helps today’s CM Professional coordinate and build structures quickly and more efficiently with less waste. The applications learned in this course will be crucial in subsequent course work.
