PH 201 - Public Health Essentials Prerequisites: PH 103 ANSOC 100 - Introduction to Cultural Anthropology or consent of instructor Requirement Fulfillment: Major, Minor, Core Concentration This course addresses the question: What is public health? with an introduction to the concepts, principles and practices of public health. Students will examine the historical and current role of public health institutions and the biological, social, behavioral, environmental and cultural determinants of health. An overview of tools used to assess, control and prevent disease will be put into the context of current public health threats and the future of public health.
