Ethical decision-making is a crucial component of public health research and practice. The duty to protect the health of the public must balance individual rights with community wellbeing at local, national, and global levels. The course focuses on the use of professional values, principles, and virtues to analyze contemporary ethical dilemmas related to prevention and health promotion activities in public health. Ethical and legal guidelines for public health research with human subjects and the protection of private health information are also covered.
