PH 201 - Public Health Essentials Prerequisites: BIO 103 or ANSOC 100 or consent of instructor Requirement Fulfillment: Fulfills a course requirement for the Public Health Minor This course addresses the question: What is public health? with an introduction to the concepts, principles and practices of public health. Students will examine the historical and current role of public health institutions and the biological, social, behavioral, environmental and cultural determinants of health. An overview of tools used to assess, control and prevent disease will be put into the context of current public health threats and the future of public health.
