ENGR 490 - Engineering Design I Prerequisites: Senior standing or permission of the instructor This course provides experience in the integration of math, science, engineering and computer science principles into a comprehensive engineering client-based design project. Open-ended problems emphasizing a multidisciplinary approach to total system design providing multiple paths to a number of feasible and acceptable solutions that meet the stated performance requirements. Design teams are required to generate alternatives, make practical approximations, perform appropriate analysis to support the technical feasibility of the design and make decisions leading to an optimized system design.
