ENGR 332 - Machine Design Prerequisites: ENGR 300 Applies engineering mechanics to the design of mechanical components and systems. Topics include stress, deflection, and buckling analysis; static, impact, fatigue, and surface failure theories; heuristic and formal methods for mechanical synthesis; fits and tolerances; fastening and joining techniques; as well as the analysis and specification of common machine elements such as screws, springs, bearings, gears, shafts, and belts.
