ENGR 270 - Digital Systems Design and Lab Prerequisites: MATH 221 or permission of the instructor Introduction to design and analysis of digital circuits. Students will learn the basics of number representation and conversion, Boolean algebra, combinational circuit design and optimization techniques, sequential circuit design techniques, and application of digital systems. The course examines register transfer level design, systems level CPU design and specification, data and control path design, and basics of digital systems design using CAD. Students will participate in a weekly laboratory where they will apply techniques developed in class to the design and implementation of small systems.
