Prerequisites:VARTS 181 Fulfills a course requirement in the Visual Arts: Painting/Drawing/ Printmaking Core Concentration This course builds on the theories and methods introduced in the Foundation of Painting course using oil-based materials. This course develops a student’s knowledge of the uses of color, including its psychological and expressive properties. Requires solution of more complex compositional and spatial problems. All aspects of making a painting from stretching a canvas to understanding the use of oil mediums will be investigated.
