COMM 381 - Bollywood
Prerequisites: COMM 250 or FILM 101; and junior standing or consent of instructor
Requirement Fulfillment: Major, Minor, Core Concentration
Delivery: Lecture
This course will introduce students to the film conventions, aesthetics, and fan cultures that surround Bollywood cinema. By understanding Bollywood in terms of production and consumption in both its local and global contexts, students will gain a deeper understanding of what scholars have referred to as global media scapes, flows, and circuits from the perspective of the Global South.
