Core Concentration: Preservation Studies Delivery: Lecture Historical overview of the variety of philosophical approaches present in the preservation movement from Ruskin to the latest Charters. Explores changes in the values and ethics of preservation and urban conservation to set the framework for judgments and choices that may be made in building projects. Topics include issues related to tradition and innovation, various types of historic preservation, such as “living” museums and private restoration, reconstruction and adaptive reuse, conservation and heritage tourism.
