SEC 415 - Intrusion Detection Prerequisites: SEC 231 , SEC 330 and SEC 405 This course is focused on the development of tools which enable the detection and identification of attacks on networks as well as the development of defensive capabilities which will allow resistance to and prevention of successful attacks. The focus is on the hands on use of various types of devices from IDS, IPS, to firewall logs, and wireshark traces to develop the ability to inspect packets, analyze logs using tools, signature scanning, honeypots and honey nets, and other tools.
