ANSOC 240 - Ethnology Prerequisites: ANSOC 100 Requirement Fulfillment: Fulfills a course requirement in the Anthropology + Sociology Core Concentration Ethnology is a study of human cultures from a comparative perspective. This course surveys global diversity by examining cultural differences and similarities in a variety of societies across the world. Through systematic cross-cultural comparisons of specific dimensions of society (e.g. family structure, gender roles) students will gain an understanding of the role culture plays in shaping human thought, behavior and social organization.
