PLS 373 - International Law for Paralegals
Prerequisites: Junior standing or consent of Paralegal Studies Director
To provide students an introduction to the principles and sources on international law regulating transactions among nations, and its expansion to non-stat actors (e.g. the private individual, international organizations and transactional corporations), and the international law legal process. Students will study the mechanisms for enforcing international law and resolving international disputes, including international courts and tribunals, and centers of arbitration and mediation. Additionally the course introduces students to selected substantive areas of international law, to include the law of the sea, human rights, and international criminal law.
