MUSIC 212 - History of Western Music II (1750 - 1900) Prerequisites: . Requirement Fulfillment: Fulfills a requirement for the Music Major, Minor and Core Concentration Delivery: Lecture This course will examine the evolution of Western fine art music from the Classical period to the dawn of the 20th Century (end of Impressionism/Romantic era). Major historical style periods will be discussed with an emphasis on changes in form, instrumentation, and performance style. The influences of era, social context, and life experience on the composer and performer, and those artists’ influence on others, will be considered as well.
