EDPR 105 - Professionalism: Infants and Toddlers Prerequisites: EDPR 100 Fulfills a course requirement for the Infant Toddler certificate This course is a companion to EDPR100. Students develop the ability to apply national birth to age 3 guiding principles, including the national Child Development Associate Standards, in practice and to write competency statements. Standards include: the establishment and maintenance of a safe, healthy learning environment; the advancement of physical and intellectual competence; the support of social and emotional development through positive guidance; the establishment of productive relationships with families; a commitment to ensuring a well-run, purposeful program responsive to participant needs; and maintaining a commitment to professionalism. This is a writing-intensive course and provides students with opportunities to use writing as an essential tool for learning course material and for engaging in the academic and professional discipline-specific conversations. Coursework also includes a field-based practicum.
