COMSC 260 - Applied Operating Systems Prerequisites: None This course is an introduction to operating system design and implementation. It provides students with an understanding of the roles of an operating system and its basic functions and services. Topics include evolution of operating systems, processes and threads, memory management, concurrency and synchronization, file systems, access control, virtualization, and security and protection. Computer Science majors are not eligible to take the course.
