BIOTEC 550 - Computational Biophysics Requirement Fulfillment: The BIOTEC550 Computational Biophysics fulfills a 3 credit course for students in the MA in Biotechnology in the Physics / Mathematics Biotechnology category. Delivery: Lecture
The techniques of graduate level computational biophysics allow researchers to simulate and visualize systems otherwise inaccessible in experimental settings. This course presents the mathematical theory behind common algorithms used by physicists as well as how to apply them to biological systems. Students will design and write the code for their own simulations to investigate certain phenomena. No coding experience is required, but students are expected to have a working knowledge of introductory physics and calculus.
