CNST 467 - Advanced Timber in Residential Construction


Prerequisites:

Take CNST 201 + Lab and CNST 204 and senior standing - Must be completed prior to taking this course.
Delivery: Lecture
This course explores the principles and practices of mass timber in residential construction with a focus on sustainability, structural performance, and construction management. The course will examine innovations in timber construction, including modular applications and the latest building code developments. Additionally, the course will  emphasize  mass  timber’s  role  in  residential  construction,  including  its  applications  in  single-family   homes, multi-family  housing,  and  modular  residential  developments.  Students  will  analyze case studies  on  how  timber  construction  enhances  energy  efficiency,  affordability, and sustainability in residential settings.
