Satisfies a General Education course for Global Perspectives Domain Delivery: Lecture No prerequisites
This course takes a global perspective in examining a select topic from among Food Studies general themes of Food Production and Sustainability; or Food, Nutrition, and Health; or Food Politics, Policies, and Cultures. The course topic may include but is not limited to such content as: famine, food and socio-political revolutions, production and agro-industry, food engineering, food and environment, food communities, nutritional and dietary needs. Alternatively, the course may also be ingredient or product based, such as bread, coffee, chocolate, meats, dairy, spices, or fruits and vegetables. Some applied lab activities, where practicable, will help advance embodied learning.
