ENVS 101 - Issues in Environmental Science Requirement Fulfillment: Fulfills a requirement for the Environmental Science major (BA and BS) and minor. Delivery: Lecture As an introduction to environmental science, this course helps students build foundational knowledge related to the examination of patterns and processes in social-environmental systems. Emphasis will be placed on discussing relationships between environmental science and society, including the use of evidence to make decisions about management of environmental resources and conditions that support human well-being, especially centering the pursuit of environmental justice and equity. Examined issues may be guided by student interests and thus vary; examples include biodiversity conservation, disease ecology, food production, water management, energy resources, pollution, and geoengineering.
