BIOTEC 523L - Developmental Biology Laboratory (for 4+1 Biotechnology MA UG/G)
Prerequisites: Succesful Completion of BIO200!
Corequisite: Enrollment in BIOTEC 523 Developmental Biology Graduate Level. Only senior students completing the 4+1 Biotechnology MA will be assigned to this lab section.
Requirement Fulfillment: BIOTEC 523L proposal as the option for internal RWU STEM students enrolled in the 4+1 Biotechnology MA program to add a 1 credit lab section.
Delivery: Lab Only
This laboratory course will, in coordination with enrollment in BIOTEC 523 Developmental Biology Graduate level, provide an introduction to the mechanisms and molecules that regulate development. Students work with a range of model organisms to examine developmental processes and techniques. Weekly laboratory exercises will focus on observation and experimental manipulation of plant, invertebrate and vertebrate embryos. Students will design and execute independent research projects and integrate current events into the investigation. 1 credit.
