ME 253 - The Power of the Line: Algebra and Functions

Fulfills a requirement for the Minor in Mathematics Education.

Fulfills a course requirement in the  General Education Area Quantative and Mathematical Reasoning.
Delivery: Lecture
The course focuses on developing and enriching preservice mathematics teachers’ toolkit of algebra, patterns and functions outlined in the Common Core Math Standards for students in grades 5 through 12.  It enhances and deepens participants’ mathematics content and pedagogical content knowledge in fundamental algebraic ideas and creates multiple paths of integrating those ideas in the school curriculum.

Fulfills a Rhode Island Department of Education requirement for Middle and High School Certification in Teaching Mathematics.
