Fulfills a course requirement in the General Education Area Systems Thinking. Delivery: Lecture The course explores and develops multiple connections within school mathematics by focusing on number systems (both in base and numeral system); fundamental topics of number theory; proportional reasoning; and vector and matrix operations.
The course will also provide a historical perspective for the development of number, number systems and quantity by weaving in the history of numeration systems. Emphasis will be placed on mathematical practices, concepts, processes, and contributions of significant figures and diverse cultures.
