Prerequisites:BIO 103 or consent of instructor Requirement Fulfillment:Fulfills a course requirement in the Biology and Marine Biology Core Concentration This course will introduce the student to the science of nutrition. Lectures and discussions will focus on the role nutrition plays in animal health and production. Topics to be covered include comparative digestive anatomy and physiology; overview of nutrients and their digestion, metabolic utilization, and balance; feeding standards for domestic animals; feedstuffs and feed formulation; and other topics of nutritional concern in animal husbandry.
