BIO 332 - Fisheries Science Prerequisites: BIO 103 or ENVS 103 , and BIO 104 or ENVS 104 ; or consent of instructor Requirement Fulfillment: Fulfills a course requirement in the Biology and Marine Biology Core Concentration A multidisciplinary course that examines the biology, ecology, and population dynamics of aquatic fishery resources. This information is further integrated with the study of human socioeconomics in an effort to better understand the management and conservation of exploited fisheries. Topics covered in the class include: fish life history characteristics and population dynamics; stock assessment and identification; socioeconomics; fishing gear technology and its impact on populations, communities, and ecosystems; and strategies for management and conservation.
