Prerequisites:POLSC 110 Examines international negotiating behavior from theoretical, historical and policy oriented perspectives. Identification of a set of principles associated with successful negotiations and refinement of these principles through application in case studies drawn from contemporary international relations. Special attention given to the negotiations leading up to the Good Friday agreement in Northern Ireland; the Dayton Peace Accords in Bosnia; and Arab-Israeli peace negotiations since the Six Day War. Students are expected to demonstrate mastery of negotiating techniques through role-playing and related assignments.
