POLSC 308 - Race and Ethnicity in American Politics Prerequisites: POLSC 100 ; or consent of instructor Race is an important cleavage in American politics. This course will examine the impact of race on voting behavior, access to leadership opportunities, the exercise of leadership, and the making of public policies. The course includes a survey of the history of the changing status of racial minorities in the United States, an analysis of the gradual integration in the American political mainstream, and an assessment of the public policies targeted at these groups.
