POLSC 305 - Judicial Politics Prerequisites: POLSC 100 ; or consent of instructor This course examines the American judiciary in its political context, by analyzing courts as political institutions and judges as political actors. With emphasis on the federal court system, particularly the Supreme Court of the United States, this course considers such topics as: the structure and function of the federal court system, the judicial selection process, theories of jurisprudence, models of judicial decision-making, and modes of constitutional interpretation.
